Father of Cardinals Lineman Dies In Car Accident On Way To See Son Play

Thomas Williams, the father of Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Dan Williams, was killed in a car accident this weekend as he traveled to New Orleans to watch his son play.

A Cardinals spokesperson tells USA Today that Dan Williams' mother and sister were also in the car, but survived the crash. The Williams family is from Memphis, Tenn., which is about a six-hour drive from New Orleans.

 

Dan Williams will not play on Sunday against the Saints and is listed as inactive.
