According to
Nola, Boosie’s release date has been pushed up to August 18, 2014. Bad Azz will remain on supervision until June 17, 2018.
Lil Boosie's release date has officially been moved up, but fans of the Baton Rouge rapper still have to wait about 8 months until he sees this side of prison walls. Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, is now listed with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections as having a release date set for Aug. 18, 2014.
Hatch's release date has consistently been a topic of discussion on hip hop and rap message boards and blogs in the previous months thanks to rumors that he would be released in November 2013. That month came and went without a word from Hatch.
Rick Ross previously alluded to a November release date as well in an interview with New York radio station Power 105.1 in which he also seemed to extend a record deal offer to the legally-troubled rapper.
"I'm going to put a bag on the table for that boy," Ross said to the station. "You never know."
According to a previous conversation with Pam Laborde, communications director with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Hatch will remain on supervision through June 17, 2018.
Hatch's prison stay began in 2009 when he pleaded guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge, earning him a total of four years when the judge determined Hatch had also violated probation. In 2011, Hatch pleaded guilty to attempting to smuggle drugs into prison, which added eight years to his sentence.
In May 2012, Hatch avoided more time when a jury acquitted him in the 2009 murder of Terry Boyd. Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding was sentenced to life without parole July 9 for the Boyd slaying.
A call for comment to Hatch's attorney was not immediately returned.
