Clap For Em: 50 Cent’s ‘Power’ Series A Hit, Season Finale Draws Nearly 1.1 Million Viewers

The numbers are in for the season finale of the STARZ series, Power. Nearly 1.1 million viewers tuned in for the episode, according to TV By The Numbers.

The show struck a chord with both African American and White viewers. As the season progressed it generated 71% viewership among African Americans. That represents the largest number for a scripted premium series since 2006.

The show stars Omari Hardwick as Ghost. A man who came up in the drug game under the tutelage of Kanan (50 Cent). With Kanan in prison, Ghost is now the kingpin. But he struggles as he walks the line between becoming a bigger drug dealer or going legit.
Power is executive produced by 50 Cent, longtime business partner Randall Emmet, Mark Canton and the show’s creator Courtney Kemp Agboh.

STARZ has already renewed it for a second season. Given the amount of cliffhangers from the series finale, season two is sure to start off with a bang.

For fans who would like to catch up on episodes they missed this season or for those tuning in for the first time, ENCORE BLACK will be rebroadcast it starting on August 12 at 10 pm ET/PT. A new episode will be shown every Tuesday at 10 pm ET/PT for eight weeks.
