Chief Keef’s Cousin Shot 10 Times, Killed In Chicago

Chicago rapper Chief Keef’s cousin, Blood Money, has reportedly been fatally shot in their hometown, just weeks after signing a deal with Interscope Records.

 

According to reports, the fatal shooting took place Wednesday (April 9) night. A shooting on Chicago’s south side Wednesday night claimed the life of rapper who’d recently been signed to a record deal. Mario Hess — also known as Blood Money — was signed by Interscope Records about two weeks ago, according to his manager and cousin, Renaldo Reuben Hess. “This was his dream and he finally got his foot in the door,” said Hess. “But that’s how it goes in Chicago. He really wanted to get off the streets.” (NBC Chicago)

Reports claim Blood Money suffered multiple gun shot wounds.

Police said Mario Hess, 33, was shot and killed about 9:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Elizabeth Street. He was found lying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest. Hess’ publicist, Victor Foh, told NBC Chicago the rapper was shot 10 times while on his way to a record studio. Another man who family members said was a relative was wounded in the same shooting and was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in serious condition, police said. (NBC Chicago)

The rapper had worked closely alongside Chief Keef on recently released music.

Chief Keef Caught Up In Shooting (Shots Fired Details)

Chief Keef somehow got mixed up in a shooting early Wednesday AM that put someone in the hospital.

 

We called Keef’s people to determine the extent of the rapper’s involvement — his lawyer tells us Keef wasn’t the shooter … he just happened to be present when shots were fired.

The Northfield PD says the shooting victim is in ICU.
 

 

The rapper really knows how to implicate himself in a crime — on Monday, Keef plastered his Instagram page with photos of guns, including an AK-47, and the photos appear to serve as a warning. Keef wrote the captions, “Another situation. Already.”

Many residents have renamed the Windy City “Chiraq” for its high rate of violence. Chicago, according to statistics, has a higher homicide rate than Kabul, Afghanistan. UPDATE: Chief Keef’s 90-Day Drug Treatment Sentence On Hold

Chicago rapper Chief Keef is going to have to wait at least one day before he can start counting down his 90-day drug treatment sentence according to the latest reports.

The 18-year-old rapper is expected to appear back in court today (November 7) to find out where he will serve the sentence.

Keith Cozart, known as the rap artist Chief Keef, is back in custody after failing two drug tests and is due to appear in court today to determine where he should undergo drug treatment, officials said. A judge on Wednesday had ordered Cozart to undergo 90 days of drug treatment at the Haymarket Center, a residential treatment center on the West Side. But Cook County sheriff’s officials delayed sending him there pending a hearing today to clarify with the judge whether he intended that Cozart be housed in a facility that is not guarded, sheriff’s spokesman Ben Breit said. Chief Keef Sentenced To 90 Days Of Rehab In A Chicago Jail

Chief Keef is back in a Chicago jail cell after a judge sentenced him to 90 days of rehab associated with the Cook County Department of Corrections yesterday.

The 18-year old rapper, real name Keith Cozart, was arrested in May for driving 110 mph in a 55 zone in Northfield, Illinois. As a condition of his release he was sentenced to 18-months probation, ordered to take random drug tests and paid a fine of $531.

On October 15 Keef was taken into custody again after testing positive for weed. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail. The “I Don’t Like” rapper was released after serving 9 days.

His rehab sentence today also stems from that positive drug test. Keef tweeted that he was about to be sent to jail around 3 this afternoon.
