Columbus Short Calls Out TMZ For Ruining His Career And Destroying His Family (Video)

In a recent interview with Dish Nation, embattled former ‘Scandal’ actor Columbus Short called out gossip tabloid TMZ.com for ruining his career and destroying his family.

 

“My character has been assassinated, unjustly,” Short told Dish Nation.

“I feel like, [gay TMZ founder] Harvey Levin got the proverbial hard-on for me or something because he was attacking me for no reason. What I found out, you know how it goes, these stories get money… TMZ is making all that money, but it’s blood money to me. I really believe it, because you’re destroying people’s families.”

Short was arrested in February for allegedly beating his estranged wife, Tanee McCall. TMZ had a field day writing stories about Short’s legal problems and his issues with McCall, whom he says dished dirt about him to TMZ.

“My ex tended to believe that the police department were like her security guards or something,” Short said.

Short addressed his defense of Ray Rice whose NFL career is in doubt after TMZ published video footage of him punching out his wife in a casino elevator.

“My first Instagram I said, I stand by Ray Rice. I said what he did was absolutely wrong. However, what TMZ… the point is TMZ. I have a lot against TMZ. We are fallible.  

Men, we are fallible creatures, mankind. And I think everybody deserves a second chance, everybody deserves a chance to get it right,” Short told Dish Nation.

Columbus Short — Bar Room Knockout Was Over $20 Bills To My Wife’s Face (Video)

Columbus Short is finally revealing exactly what drove him into such a rage that he delivered a knockout blow to a guy’s face earlier this year — and it might change your opinion of the hot-headed actor.

 

Short was on Atlanta’s V-103 radio station when he was asked about the bar fight back in March, and he said … “I had to defend my wife at a bar. This man was being highly, highly disrespectful … slapping her in the face with $20 bills.”

TMZ broke the story … Columbus knocked out Felton Hyche III, and at the time all we knew was that Hyche had allegedly said or done something rude to Short’s wife.

 

Columbus also explains that Hyche was the one who got physical first — but if what he says about the money to his wife’s face is true, we gotta ask...

Columbus Short Gets AXED From Scandal Over Domestic Violence Allegations

Columbus Short won't be returning to "Scandal" following his legal troubles. The 31-year-old actor said in a statement released Friday that he's exiting the ABC political thriller after three seasons.

 

Columbus just released this statement: "At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I've called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble in television today."

Short goes on: "Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas. I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast..."

Short story ... it would appear Harrison ate the bullet that was aimed at him in the season finale.

TMZ broke the story ... Short's wife just got a restraining order against him after he allegedly put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. He's also been charged in connection with another incident with domestic violence and child abuse. He was arrested for yet another incident of alleged domestic abuse. And he was arrested recently for allegedly clocking a dude in a bar.

Judge Kicks Columbus Short Out His Home After Wife Files For Divorce

The Columbus Short season of Scandal continues to press on with no end in sight. A judge has the embattled 30-year-old actor to return to his home for the sole purpose of packing up his stuff and so Tyrone can come pick him up.

 

“Scandal” star Columbus Short is being allowed to return to his home — after being banned from the premises for allegedly threatening to kill his wife — but he won’t have time to get comfortable … a judge is giving Short just 2 hours at home to get his stuff … and get out.

Short was in court today seeking permission to move back into his house after his wife obtained a restraining order, barring him from entering the home — but a judge denied his request.

Instead, the judge gave Short 2 hours next Monday to go to the house and gather any belongings he needs … and only with his attorney present.

TMZ broke the story … Tanee Short got the restraining order, claiming Short had threatened to kill her during an explosive fight in their Chatsworth home April 7. Tanee claimed Short pinned her down, choked her, and threatened to stab her unless she admitted to having affairs.

She also claimed Short put a knife to her throat and threatened murder/suicide.
Tanee has since filed for divorce and wants sole custody of their 2-year-old daughter.
Short recently appeared on The Tom Joyner Morning Show and made an attempt to clear the air but managed to call the host the n-word instead.

Breaking: Columbus Short Accused Of Threatening His Wife With Murder/Suicide

“Scandal” star Columbus Short has been thrown out of his house and his wife has filed for divorce … after he allegedly put a knife to her throat last week and threatened to kill her and himself.

According to a new restraining order — obtained by TMZ — Short got into it with his wife April 7 at their Chatsworth home, where she claims he came into her room intoxicated with a wine bottle in hand, acted like he was going to hit her with the bottle and then unloaded the wine on her.

Tuere Short claims Columbus then ran to the kitchen for a knife, pinned her to the couch and began choking her. She says he then demanded they play a game he called “Truth or Truth.” He allegedly said if she lied he would stab her in the leg.

She says he then started naming men he believed she was having affairs with. She denied them all but he allegedly then put the knife to her throat and threatened murder/suicide. As she tried escaping she says he slashed her tire.

The restraining order requires Columbus to move out of the house. We’ve learned cops were there today to ensure the peace as he moved out.

Tuere also filed for divorce Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences and asking for sole custody of their 2-year-old daughter.

In addition to the incident April 7th, Short has been charged with criminal domestic violence and child abuse for allegedly abusing Tuere while their child and his son were in the house. He pled not guilty. And he was arrested for yet another alleged domestic violence incident a few weeks earlier.

It’s interesting … just last month — after the first 2 domestic violence arrests — Columbus and his wife put on a united front at The Grove in L.A.

Columbus Short — Alleged Fight Victim Refuses to Press Charges Despite Serious Injuries

“Scandal” star Columbus Short’s alleged bar fight victim has refused to press charges against the actor — despite serious injuries to his head and back — and we’re told … it’s all because of family ties.

The victim’s lawyer tells TMZ, he’s been in contact with Columbus’ management to come to some sort of settlement without involving police. We’re told the victim has made it clear to investigators he doesn’t want the case pursued criminally.

 

The reason … the lawyer tells us both men are tight with the same people — the alleged fight went down at a family member’s engagement party — so the victim wants to resolve this as amicably as possible.

If they end up settling, Short could end up paying a boatload in medical expenses — we’re told the victim suffered a facial fracture and a massive concussion from Short’s punch, as well as serious neck and back injuries.

Uh-Oh: Columbus Short Scandal Role In Danger?

Bad news Gladiators. Harrison Wright may be taking a leave of absence. Earlier this week Scandal star Columbus Short was arrested for assaulting a bar patron in West L.A. Then it was revealed that Columbus has a history of domestic violence against his wife.

Now insiders reveal Scandal creator and head writer Shonda Rhimes is not going to stand for it.

A source close to production tells HipHollywood exclusively that the show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes doesn’t “tolerate negative press” and that she “issued him a warning to get his personal issues sorted out.” We are told that if the actor “continues with his violent behavior,” he could get the ax from the show.
