NBA legend Michael Jordan is officially a member of the billionaire boys club. The 51-year-old former Chicago Bulls star just added hundreds of millions of dollars to his personal wealth by increasing his ownership in the Charlotte Hornets from 80% to 89.5%. Before expanding his portfolio Jordan had a net worth of $750 million.

Jordan first became an investor in the Hornets (then the Bobcats) in 2006 and became the controlling owner in 2010 when he bought out Robert Johnson for $175 million. Sports bankers say the Hornets are presently worth between $600 million and $625 million. The Milwaukee Bucks sold for $550 million in May, and they are considered the least valuable team in the league.

Our net worth figure for Jordan uses the $600 million figure. The Hornets have $135 million of debt, which makes Jordan’s equity in the team worth $416 million. After subtracting all the cash Jordan has invested in the team, we estimate his net worth outside of the Hornets to be $600 million, giving him a net worth of a $1 billion.

Michael Jordan Welcomes Twin Daughters

Looks like MJ finally has his  starting five.

The Hall of Famer’s wife, Yvette, gave birth to twin girls Sunday, EOnline.com reported Tuesday. 

According to the website, Jordan’s manager told E! News: “Michael and Yvette Jordan are thrilled to announce that their identical twin daughters, Victoria and Ysabel, were born Sunday, February 9, 2014 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Yvette and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival.” 

Michael Jordan, who will turn 51 on Feb. 17, married the former Yvette Prieto, 34, in Palm Beach, Fla., last August. The basketball superstar had two sons, Jeffrey and Marcus, and a daughter, Jasmine, with his then-wife Juanita. Michael and Juanita Jordan divorced in December 2006. 

A six-time NBA champion and five-time league Most Valuable Player, Jordan is currently the owner and chief of basketball operations for the Charlotte Bobcats.

Michael Jordan: “I’m Having Identical Twins!”

Michael Jordan is on his way to creating a basketball team of his own because he’s having IDENTICAL twin girls. Michael’s wife, Yvette Prieto, is pregnant, though its not known how far along.

 

They were married in April.   

Michael already has 3 kids — 2 boys and a girl. The kids are all in their 20s.
The people we’ve been speaking with in Jordan’s world are being super secretive/scared stiff. But we’re told so far … the pregnancy is progressing just fine.
