Non Exclusive: Def Jam Drops Trinidad James

 

It’s was all gold just a week ago. Nearly two years after inking a joint venture with Def Jam, Trinidad James revealed on his Twitter handle that he’s been released from the label. It was rumored that he received $2 million thanks to his breakout single, “All Gold Everything”.

 

“I should tell yall. I got dropped by the Label. My Album is now free. If u hear ur beat or verse on it. I hope u want dap cuz i got no money”

Since he comes from experience, ThisIs50′s Jack Thriller asked “The Kang” to offer up his opinion on Trinidad James’ recent New York comments.

“This is not a derogatory statement towards Trinidad, but [he] can’t speak for me and since I am a part of Atlanta, I don’t think it’s adequate that he speak for the entire population of Atlanta.”

The superstar was clear not to word his statement as a diss, continuing with “With all due respect, I don’t think he’s come that far and walked that walk to enough–yet to where that would be accepted without ridicule.”

This past November, the “All Gold Everything” rapper had a stream of visionary consciousness when he announced that the South ran the Hip-Hop streets of The Big Apple. Naturally that didn’t go to well as the entire A$AP Mob accused him of trolling and struggle rappers such as Mysonne and Papoose jumped at the opportunity to associate themselves with the incident.

T.I. was in the concrete jungle for bigger reasons than to discuss the whole that Trinidad dug, however. He recently a new coffee table book, The Book of Kings, Vol.1 and had an extravagant party to celebrate the event.

The Hustle Gang head honcho has appeared to be regaining his focus towards the music as well. Since signing with Columbia Records, he recently announced that he was changing the name of his Trouble Man album, and most likely its musical direction.

Prior to Trinidad James’ video yesterday, where he elaborated on his ”South Runs NY“, Maino dialed up TJ to confront him on the controversial video and demanded an apology to New York City. Pretty intense.

Following Trinidad Jame$’ the south runs NY rant, Maino addressed the issue with TJ via Twitter. After a few back and forth tweets, Maino dialed into Hot 97 earlier to discuss the issue and defend his city. This could get ugly.
 



Uh-Oh: Trinidad James Blasts NY Rappers, Smoke DZA & Maino Respond (Video)

Trinidad James is catching some serious backlash after going off on the state of hip-hop, notably in the New York area, during a concert this week. During his appearance at Converse Rubber Tracks last night (November 12), James spoke on the New York rap scene falling off.

“I remember when New York ran this sh*t, dog. When Dipset was f*ckin’ turned the f*ck up. Oh my God. I gotta wear my bandana on tilt like Juelz. What the f*ck happened, dog? What happened? I remember when New York rap was the sh*t. And us in the South, us bammas, we was like ‘what the f*ck’ and we just did our own thing. But now we run y’all musically. That’s crazy. That’s crazy. That’s crazy, my n*gga. That’s crazy. I’m not trying to start nothing, but if you want to do something we can do something cause I don’t give a f*ck. I looked up to New York music. And now every n*gga that’s really poppin’ out of New York, you might as well tell they from Atlanta. ‘He from Atlanta. He from Atlanta. He from Atlanta.’ I’m just putting it out there. Shortly after the footage went viral, Harlem rapper Smoke DZA responded to James’ comments.
 

“im not from atlanta..,” he tweeted November 13. 

“its easy for n*ggas to say what the want in front of f*cking nerds and d*cksuckers who enjoy that type of sh*t” 

“sick of u n*ggas disrespecting my city like its not real n*ggas out here thats bout that.. LIKE ME”

“this sh*t is disrespectful.. and i got love for every city every n*gga rocking, but that sh*t is wild to me..”

Brooklyn rapper Maino showed no mercy and went in on James: 

“S/O to all the NY n*ggas who let this Rotten Teeth n*gga @TrinidadJamesGG disrespect us lastnite! #whathappened,” Maino tweeted. 

“Somebody wake @TAXSTONE up tell’em this nasty mouth n*gga  

@TrinidadJamesGG is on the menu. #whathappened” 

“after we clean this guy @trinidadjamesGG up I’m straighten a few of u NY n*ggas out for being the V*ginas that u R!”

Trinidad has already jumped onto his Twitter page to respond to both rappers:
