Jay Z Calls Blue Ivy His Biggest Fan

Jay Z covers the latest issue of Vanity Fair and reveals daughter Blue Ivy is his biggest fan.

Shawn Carter, better known as Jay Z, tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Lisa Robinson in the November issue that although his wife, Beyoncé, says that their 18-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy, prefers Jay’s music to hers, he’s not so sure.
 

“That’s not true. She does like her mother’s music—she watches [Beyoncé’s concerts] on the computer every night. But my album came out and I don’t know if Blue ever heard any of my music prior to this album—she’s only 18 months old and I don’t play my music around the house. But this album was new, so we played it. And she loves all the songs. She plays a song and she goes, ‘More, Daddy, more . . . Daddy song.’ She’s my biggest fan. If no one bought the Magna Carta [album], the fact that she loves it so much, it gives me the greatest joy. And that’s not like a cliché. I’m really serious. Just to see her—‘Daddy song, more, Daddy.’ She’s genuine, she’s honest, because she doesn’t know it makes me happy. She just wants to hear it.”

Chris Mannix: I’ve gotta ask you about the firestorm with James Harden and Dwyane Wade and all that nonsense that was out there. You tweeted at me the other day, you said, ‘Don’t buy into this beef Chris, it’s not a real beef.’ Let me ask you this, in this way: Were you surprised it became the story that it did? 

 Kevin Durant: To be honest, I forgot all about it, I forgot that I said that until I checked on Twitter. A lot of Heat fans tweeted me and said not so nice things, which was expected. But I wasn’t trying to disrespect D-Wade in any type of way or discredit anything he’s done. He’s a champion, their team is a champion. I can’t say anything about their team. I can’t. They beat us in the Finals and they won back-to-back. I can’t say anything about their team. Basically what I was saying was that D-Wade passed the torch onto guys like James Harden, just to name one. I think that was just my opinion. I respect D-Wade, and I’m sure everybody’s saying that he’s going to use that as motivation, but he’s always been a motivated player, and it’s not going to change what I bring to the table. And I’m gonna stand by everything I say. No matter if I’m winning or losing, I’m going to say the same thing.

 

CM: What did you think of the Instagram photo he posted with the writing on it?
 
KD: The handwriting was immaculate. D-Wade, he’s a high-level player. I didn’t really think too much about it. It is what it is. Some people get motivated different ways, and that’s how he chose to do it, and I respect him. There’s no disrespect to him or the organization, it’s just how I felt at the time when they were asking the question. Like I said, I’m going to stand behind it. I’m not going to let anybody change my stance on anything. Like I said, I respect what they’ve done as a team, what he’s done as a player. But I was just talking about today as of right now, who I would take. 

NBA: Jason Kidd & Kevin Garnett Already Bumping Heads?! (Details)

It looks like new head coach Jason Kidd is already bumping heads with new Net Kevin Garnett. According to the Brooklyn Nets power forward his talk with first-year coach Jason Kidd about possibly not playing both games of back-to-back sets “didn’t go too well.”

 

 

Reports In Flex We Trust:

 

“I’m just being honest,” Garnett said in front of several laughing reporters during a news conference Monday at the team’s media day. “But I understand what he’s saying. He’s just making sure I’m durable and can get through an entire 82-game season.
“So I’m totally understanding of what it is. … He’s looking to better me, so I’m gonna try to be receptive to that.”

Nothing has been finalized with respect to the issue, Garnett said.

“We’re still in wait-and-see mode,” Garnett said. “I just don’t want to be told anything. Hopefully I’ve earned the right to have an opinion in something that I’m doing. But more importantly, from a chemistry standpoint, I think it’s important for me to be out there with everybody, and I think it’ll speed the chemistry process up more quickly.”
