Kanye West ‘Yeezus’ Tour Postponed

The show must go on, but it’s going to take a minute. Kanye’s tour will be put on hold due to a shipping accident.

A press statement from Island Def Jam details the accident, which occurred on the way to Vancouver and apparently damaged a "custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen" being used on the tour, which kicked off in Seattle earlier this month. The gear was wrecked beyond repair, and three shows on the trek -- including Thursday's show in Vancouver, which was itself originally scheduled for Oct. 20 before being bumped to Oct. 31 -- will be rescheduled due to the accident.

 

"This gear is central to the staging of The Yeezus Tour, and central to the creative vision put forth by Kanye West and his design team at DONDA," reads the statement. "Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans."

Chris Brown recently found himself in trouble with the law again for his alleged temper this week when he was arrested on an assault charge for allegedly punching a man who tried to take a photo with him. Brown is no stranger to the legal system, but he’s now worrying even Mike Tyson.

Allen Iverson, an 11-time All-Star and a seven-time All-NBA selection, announced his retirement from basketball Wednesday at a press conference in Philadelphia.

“I’m formally announcing my retirement from basketball,” Iverson said, flanked by his children and manager. “You know, I thought once this day came it would be basically a tragic day. … I promise you it is a happy day for me. I really thought this day would be a tough day for me, but it’s a happy day.”

In a speech that ran more than 10 minutes, the 2001 MVP thanked his family, coaches, and teammates, and offered reflections on his impact on the game and culture.

“I took an asskicking for me being me in my career, for me looking the way I looked and dressing the way I dressed,” Iverson said, playfully covering his daughter’s ears. “My whole thing was just being me. Now, you look around the NBA and all of them have tattoos, guys wearing corn rows. You used to think the suspect was the guy with the corn rows, now you see the police officers with the corn rows.”

Iverson, wearing a black and white jacket, a black baseball cap turned backwards and a gold chain, singled out Michael Jordan as his inspiration and expressed gratitude to former Georgetown coach John Thompson for “saving my life” and former Sixers coach Larry Brown for helping him better learn the game and maximize his physical gifts. He also acknowledged former Philadelphia Daily News reporter Phil Jasner, who covered Iverson for years.

More than three years removed from his last appearance in an NBA game, Iverson, 38, concluded his speech by admitting that his fire to compete at the professional level is finally extinguished.

Dame Dash Abandons Upstate Mansion & Leaves Behind Everything (Details)

Roc-a-fella Records co-founder Damon Dash trashed and abandoned his upstate mansion, leaving behind bongs and dirty laundry — but also jewelry and artwork, new court documents claim.

The hip-hop mogul — who once said he was worth $50 million — owes $162,000 in back rent on the upstate Carmel pad, which boasts a music studio and pool.
The landlord’s lawyer, Thomas Mullaney, told The Post that Dash “held the house hostage” for a year in a half while he dodged rental payments of $15,000 a month before he left it all behind.

The carpets were ruined, and his “clothing strewn on the floor as if it were trash,” according to the landlord’s Putnam County lawsuit.
“Mr. Dash simply abandoned the property,” owner Elad Yoran huffs in his lawsuit filed in Putnam County.

Dash claims that he’s fallen on hard times, but Yoran’s lawyer said, “When I look online, he’s rolling around in a chauffeured Roll Royce, and he’s riding in a private plane.

“He’s not living the life of someone who is trying to keep their expenses down so they can pay their obligations,” Mullaney said.

Yoran was forced to pack and store Dash’s jewelry, drug paraphernalia, clothing and art work that he left strewn around the house as if “frozen in time,” the papers state.
Dash raked in a fortune when he collaborated with Jay-Z on the record label and clothing company Rocawear. As part of his lavish lifestyle, he reportedly owned 1,300 different pairs of shoes, a $400,000 Maybach and items of clothing that were worn once and then donated.

He said in court papers that he was no longer interested in the country house because it was too cold up north.

But Dash insisted that he doesn’t even have enough money now to pick up his items in storage, court papers.

He owed $2 million in unpaid taxes to New York state in 2009 and is fighting against a garnishment of his wages after he defaulted on a $238,078 loan to a garment-industry lender.

The garnishments “have caused severe financial hardship that has not only made it nearly impossible for me to maintain my businesses, they have caused me to fall behind on my personal expenses including my rent payments for my only residence,” Dash testified in May.

He also blamed his financial woes on child-support payments of $24,000 every three months to his ex-wife, fashion designer Rachel Roy, with whom he has two children.
In addition to the rent, he owes payments to the maid and Yoran for packing and storing the items.

Dash’s lawyer, Gregg Pinto, responded to the accusations in an e-mail, saying, “Elad Yoran reneged on a deal that he made and now wants to use bad press to gain leverage. Mr. Dash is not scared and wants to let a judge decide.”



Diddy Set To Star In Remake Of Cult Classic 'King Of New York'

Sean “Diddy” Combs is one ambitious fellow. The Bad Boy Records and Revolt TV founder, Ciroc vodka pusher and sometime rapper is remaking the cult classic film King Of New York, and plans to star in the film, too.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Combs is teaming with Brian Grazer to remake the 1990 gangster flick and have a lead role. Abel Ferrara directed the original, which starred Christopher Walken as Frank White and also included Laurence Fishburne and Wesley Snipes. 

“Sean optioned the rights to remake ‘King of New York’ for two years,” Grazer told the Post. “The film is a cult classic, and it will be great to remake it. Our version won’t be exactly the same, but will have the same hard-core gangster feel. Sean wants to be in it, he was amazing in ‘Monster’s Ball,’ and such strong characters sit perfectly with him.”
For those that don’t know, “Frank White” was one of the aliases of Hip-Hop’s only real King of New York (sorry Kendrick Lamar), Bad Boy rapper the Notorious B.I.G. Since the film’s modest release in 1990, is has become one of Hip-Hop culture’s favorite movies.

Combs and Grazer plan to start production on their version of King Of New York in 2013.

Chris Brown Checks Himself Into Rehab

Chris Brown has decided to get some help.

The R&B singer has checked into rehab for anger management, the move coming a day after his appearance in court regarding an assault charge stemming from a fight that occurred over the weekend.

"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," a rep for the singer said in a statement to E! News Tuesday. "His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."

His longtime attorney, Mark Geragos, dropped him off at a facility today.
Attorney Danny Onorato, who represented Brown in court yesterday, told us that his client "committed no crime" in the wee hours Sunday near the W Hotel in Washington, D.C. The 24-year-old has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault (knocked down from an initial felony arrest) and is due back in court Nov. 25.

Brown, who is still on probation from his 2009 felony assault conviction for beating up Rihanna, is facing 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.

But it appears that Brown is really serious about getting to the root of what ails him. As E! News exclusively reported yesterday, a source close to Brown said that he was a "good kid" at heart, but what he really needed was rehab and intensive therapy.
"He needs help. He keeps self-medicating with weed and alcohol and that's when he always gets in trouble," the insider said.

Despite winning his first Grammy in 2012, neither F.A.M.E. nor Fortune seems to have mellowed the volatile artist. He at first got a string of glowing probation reviews from the judge overseeing his 2009 case, but then court dates started springing up that had to do with new issues, such as an alleged hit-and-run and concern that he hadn't legitimately completed the 180 days of community labor he was sentenced to as part of his 2009 assault rap.

The hit-and-run charge was dropped but Brown was sentenced to another 1,000 hours of community service.

As for his latest run-in with the law, the singer is accused of punching 20-year-old Parker Isaac Adams and breaking his nose when Adams tried to photobomb Brown and two women.

"We understand that his security staff acted to protect Mr. Brown and his property as is authorized by District of Columbia law," Onorato told us. "We are confident that Mr. Brown will be exonerated of any wrongdoing."

Arrest Warrant Issued For Stevie J. For Over $1 Million Unpaid Child Support Bill

Stevie J is apparently up to his eyeballs in child support debt, with documents showing he allegedly owes $1.2 million in back pay to two of his children with his former girlfriend. The situation is so serious that the State of New York has reportedly issued a warrant for the “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star’s arrest.

Representatives for former music executive Carol Bennett (Stevie’s ex) confirmed that Stevie J’s assets are being targeted to repay the debt.

Bennett will reportedly hold a press conference later this week to address the matter.
AllHipHop reports that Ms. Bennett, who helped Stevie with his music career while he was a producer at Bad Boy Records, went so far as to contact Bounty Alert and the Custodial Support Foundation, organizations that specialize in recovering hidden assets from people who deliberately neglect their child support duties.

“Our preliminary investigative efforts in Ms. Bennett’s case and have uncovered information which raises huge concerns,” Tiffany Stewart Esq., President of the Custodial Support Foundation, told AllHipHop.com in a statement.

Under the 1992 Child Support Recovery Act, it’s a crime to leave a state while owing more than $10,000 in unpaid child support, for more than two years.

According to Ms. Bennett, Stevie J. could be facing jail time since he owed more than 20 times that amount when he left New York for Georgia.

Ms. Bennett’s press conference is slated for October 31 at 11:30 a.m. ET in NYC.

Jada offered some insight into her current mental state at the Associated Black Charities of Baltimore Girls’ Night Out Event on October 23, telling the crowd that “when you are going through a storm with your spouse … stop thinking about what you ‘believe’ a husband or wife should be,” according to audience member Vera Holman, who live-tweeted the event. Jada also reportedly told the crowd, “I thought success would make me happy … It does NOT.”

Indeed, more than fifteen years after their lavish Hollywood wedding, Will and Jada are living separate lives. Will has been in New Orleans since mid-September filming Focus, and is scheduled to stay there through next month as well. His ex, Sheree Fletcher, is also in town, according to her Instagram.

Jada, meanwhile, traveled to Paris earlier this month with her daughter, Willow and mother, Adrienne Banfield-Brown, who was also by her side at the Baltimore event.
Once back in L.A., Jada has reportedly moved into her brother Caleeb Pinkett‘s Calabasas home.

Wasting NO Time: L.A. County Probation Department Launches Investigation On Chris Brown

The wheels of justice are turning quickly for Chris Brown … now the L.A. County Probation Dept. has launched an investigation into Chris Brown’s D.C. arrest to determine if it constitutes a violation of his probation in the Rihanna beating case.

We’ve learned — and this is pretty ironic — the Probation Dept. found out about the arrest from Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos. We’re told Geragos called Probation Sunday morning — hours after the arrest — to inform them of what went down.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Probation officials have been in contact with D.C. authorities. Probation investigators will conduct their own investigation, and determine if there’s good reason to believe Brown committed a crime when he allegedly punched a man in the nose Sunday morning.

The Probation Dept. will submit its report to the judge in the Rihanna case, who will decide if Brown’s probation should be revoked. Worst case scenario for Brown — 4 years in prison for a probation violation.



‘Entourage’ Movie Is ‘Officially A Go’, All Actors Sign On (Details)

After weeks of speculation and rumors, it looks like the “Entourage” movie is finally, officially, happening. The news came from Jerry Ferrara, who played Turtle on the series.

In the first of two tweets about the news, Jerry writes, “I am proud to announce the #Entourage movie is officially a GO! Have to thank @wbpictures and @HBO for all the support to make this happen!” He followed that with, “On behalf of the 4 guys I wanna also thank the #entourage fans for the patience. The BOYS are BACK.”

It all started October 16 when executive producer Mark Wahlberg said greed was holding up the project. Kevin Connolly (Eric) was confident the movie would happen, while Adrian Grenier (Vince) seemed to be the one holding out, as he wanted the four main cast members not named Jeremy Piven to get deals that would allow them to share in the movie’s success, should that come. Piven was already signed on for the movie, doing so in August.

According to Connolly, it looks like January is the goal for starting production on the movie. Creator Doug Ellin also confirmed the movie deal on his Twitter, writing, “It’s a go. love you all.”



Update: Chris Brown Charge REDUCED To Misdemeanor Assault

Chris Brown just got cut a big break … the assault charge has just been reduced from a FELONY to a MISDEMEANOR … and Chris pled not guilty. Chris has just been released without bail. He’s also required to stay 100 yards away from the victim.

Chris had been ordered to take a drug test, but the judge just vacated that order. It’s standard in such cases to order a drug test, but that has been cancelled.
The bodyguard’s charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor.

TMZ broke the story … Brown was arrested for felony assault early Sunday morning in Washington D.C. after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel and breaking his nose.
Brown allegedly got into an argument with a man, said “I’m not down with that gay s**t, I’m into boxing,” and then punched him in the nose.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the fight started when the man and his friend photobombed Chris, who was posing for a picture with two girls.

Sources close to Chris insist the fight wasn’t over a photo — they say the alleged victim tried to force his way onto Chris’ tour bus, and Chris was merely trying to stop a trespass.

Brown has been in custody since the incident.

50 Cent Cops Plea In Domestic Violence Case

50 Cent won’t be going to jail after allegedly kicking his baby mama and destroying a bunch of her property during a blowout fight back in June. Instead, he struck a plea deal to stay out of the slammer.

As we reported, Fiddy was charged with 5 criminal counts following the incident — 1 count of misdemeanor domestic violence, and 4 counts of misdemeanor vandalism (for allegedly causing $7,100 in damage).

He pled not guilty soon after, but the judge still ordered him to stay away from baby mama Daphne Joy — the mother of 50′s second child — and turn in all his guns.
Now, 50′s attorney tells TMZ … the rapper has worked out a deal with prosecutors to get the domestic violence charge DROPPED — agreeing to plead no contest to one count of misdemeanor vandalism instead.

50 was sentenced today to 3 years probation and 30 days of community service. He has also agreed to attend counseling sessions and pay $7,100 in restitution to Daphne.
FYI, the restraining order against 50 Cent is still in effect. It’s unclear if he’s allowed to get his guns back.

To commemorate his 11th year in the league, Nike spearheads LeBron’s new ad, Training Day, which features a preview of Mike Will Made It’s track with John Legend titled, “My Shoes”. Says Mike:

I’ve been blessed to have so much success producing singles for other artists, and now, I’m just trying to stay creative, to start working on more diverse and different projects, like scoring commercials and movies, and executive producing albums and game or movie soundtracks. Breezy was arrested in Washington, D.C. Sunday morning after allegedly attacking a man outside the W Hotel. The two apparently got into an argument around 4:30 AM, which ended with Brown punching the other man. The incident is being considered a felony assault and allegedly started over...wait for it...a photo bomb!

It turns out Chris Brown was hosting a Howard Homecoming party at The Park at Fourteenth Nightclub before heading back to his hotel. After the above-mentioned altercation, both he and his bodyguard were apparently handcuffed and taken in jail, where they both remain for the time being.
According to TMZ:

"Two women approached Brown in front of the W Hotel and asked to take a picture with him. As the pic was about to be taken, two men rushed over to get in the photo. We’re told Chris then said, "I’m not into this gay shit, I'm into boxing," and threw a punch at the alleged victim. The fight was then taken to the ground."
Also:

"Chris broke his nose and he may need surgery as early as tomorrow morning. The victim confirmed he and a friend photo bombed the two women who were taking a picture with Brown when Chris went nuts. The victim says he's not a Chris Brown fan... and was just hanging with a couple girls at the hotel when he saw the singer outside. The victim says he doesn't understand why Brown would be "so homophobic" to hurl such a slur... and would have accepted an apology at the scene, but now he will absolutely press charges."



Breaking News: Chris Brown Arrested For Felony Assault In DC, Taken Into Police Custody

Chris Brown was arrested in Washington D.C. this morning for FELONY assault after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Brown got into an argument with a man outside the W Hotel on K Street and allegedly punched him once IN THE FACE. We’re told the man Chris struck never threw a punch. Sources say Chris and the alleged victim did NOT know each other.

The incident occurred at about 4:30 AM.

Chris was with his bodyguard, and we’re told he was also arrested.

 Our law enforcement sources say Brown did not appear to be under the influence of anything at the time of the incident.

Brown is currently in custody. As for the other person, we’re told he’s being evaluated at a D.C. hospital. Sources say he’s claiming injury.

Brown is still on probation in the Rihanna beating case and this could be grounds for violating his probation — which means he could be sentenced to prison for nearly 4 years … worst case scenario for him.

Before the incident, Chris had been hosting a party at the nearby Park and 14th nightclub.

Jay Z Addresses Barneys Controversy

Change clothes and go? Not so fast. Earlier this week, 19-year-old Trayon Christian made headlines after getting arrested for purchasing a $350 belt at Barneys in New York City. According to various reports, a sales clerk alerted the authorities because of credit card suspicion. Citing racism, critics called for Jay Z to sever ties with the retailer for his collection launching next month. Until now, Hov’s been silent about the situation, but addressed it on his website.

This collaboration lives in a place of giving and is about the Foundation. I am not making a dime from this collection; I do not stand to make millions, as falsely reported. I need to make that fact crystal clear. The Shawn Carter Foundation is the beneficiary and the foundation is receiving 25% of all sales from the collaboration, 10% of all sales generated in the store on November 20th and an additional donation from Barneys. This money is going to help individuals facing socio-economic hardships to help further their education at institutions of higher learning. My idea was born out of creativity and charity… not profit.

I move and speak based on facts and not emotion. I haven’t made any comments because I am waiting on facts and the outcome of a meeting between community leaders and Barneys. Why am I being demonized, denounced and thrown on the cover of a newspaper for not speaking immediately? The negligent, erroneous reports and attacks on my character, intentions, and the spirit of this collaboration have forced me into a statement I didn’t want to make without the full facts. Making a decision prematurely to pull out of this project, wouldn’t hurt Barneys or Shawn Carter, but all the people that stand a chance at higher education. I have been working with my team ever since the situation was brought to my attention to get to the bottom of these incidents and at the same time find a solution that doesn’t harm all those that stand to benefit from this collaboration.

I am against discrimination of any kind, but if I make snap judgements, no matter who it’s towards, aren’t I committing the same sin as someone who profiles? Barneys CEO Issues Apology For Racial Profiling Incidents; Petition Urges Jay Z To Drop Partnership

Barneys New York CEO Mark Lee has issued a public apology concerning two highly publicized racial profiling incidents that occurred at the company’s flagship store.

 

 

Reports NBC News:

 

“Barneys New York believes that no customer should have the unacceptable experience described in recent media reports, and we offer our sincere regret and deepest apologies,” Lee said in an issued statement.

In addition to the apology, NBC News says that the luxury department store chain plans to hire Michael Yaki, who serves on the U.S. Commission of Civil Rights, to examine company policy for fairness and equality practices. Lee also insists that Barneys has been reaching out to the community to ”begin a dialogue on this important issue.”

It will be pretty interesting to see how the public responds to Lee’s efforts on behalf of Barneys, as petitions against the popular department store chain have already begun. Earlier today we told you that fans are urging hip hop mogul Jay Z to cut all business ties with the American retailer, as he announced that he would be partnering with the company for a limited edition holiday line. 25% of the proceeds will go to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. A portion of the petition reads:

“We can no longer tolerate blatant prejudice and discrimination. It is clear that the minority buying power is devalued by some. We must withdraw support to those who will not support us.”

“Jay Z is currently in partnership with Barneys New York for the release of his holiday collection — called “A New York Holiday” (or BNY SCC). Barneys lacks any connection with the black and hip-hop community. And without his vast wealth and brand power, they would see him the same as they see Trayon Christian. Jay Z should be appalled by Barneys actions, and withdraw all support from them. If he does this, he will send a clear message to all corporations that are likeminded, that this behavior cannot be tolerated any longer.”

Jay has yet to publicly respond to the scandal. While Lee’s apology and reexamination of company practices could potentially be a step in the right direction, I’m not sure if it will be enough to calm the masses, since the damage appears to be done.



James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond Sentenced To Life In Prison

Former music executive James Rosemand aka Jimmy Henchman was sentenced to life in prison on Friday, October 25 in a Brooklyn federal courthouse for cocaine trafficking. Also, he faces more charges.

 

 

Reports New York Newsday:

 

Rosemond, known in the rap world as "Jimmy Henchman," still faces separate charges in federal court in Manhattan of conspiracy to murder an associate of the rapper 50 Cent.

Rosemond was convicted of overseeing what officials said was an $11 million a year bicoastal cocaine trafficking business that used a musical equipment shipping company as cover to transport cocaine and cash.
"His image as a music impresario was a cover for the real Jimmy Rosemond, a thug in a suit," said Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch.
 

Last year, Henchman admitted to setting up Tupac Shakur's infamous shooting at Quad Studios during an attempted robbery in 1994.

According to AllHipHop, Henchman will be seeking a new trial.

The shoot was art directed by Damien Hirst, one of the world’s most highly-acclaimed living artists.

In Greek mythology, Medusa was a monster, who would turn onlookers to stone if they looked at her hideous face.

The Washington Redskins Could Be Changing Their Name VERY Soon!

Something curious/suspicious is going on with the Washington Redskins … there’s evidence the owner might be caving to pressure to change the name.

Here’s what we know. Redskins owner Dan Snyder lives in Potomac, Maryland, a few doors down from a very rich dude, Aris Mardirossian. Aris, a wealthy patent investor, registered the name, WASHINGTON BRAVEHEARTS on October 17th. According to the Trademark application, obtained by TMZSports, Aris plans to use the name for “Entertainment in the nature of football games.”

Aris also created a company called Washington Brave Hearts, LLC on the same day — Oct. 17th. We’ve also obtained the LLC docs but there are no specifics.

As for the relationship between Aris and Dan, we’re told the 2 of them formed a united front on their block a few years back — both men wanted to cut down trees on their lots but they were being blocked by the county.
Also, we found out both Snyder and Mardirossian attended the University of Maryland … just at different times.

With all the hubbub over the Redskins name, it’s more than curious that a man who has nothing to do with football would suddenly register the name of a football team that would solve his neighbor’s problem.

We’ve made numerous calls to everyone involved, and almost everyone who spoke to us was tight-lipped and would not broach the subject. Aris flat out hung up on us. As for the Redskins, we’ve made multiple calls but so far, no word back.

Phil Jackson Explains Responding To Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” Verse (VIDEO)

There were a few moments after the August 12th release of Big Sean’s “Control” collaboration with Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica which illustrated the insane impact of Kendrick’s verse. One of those was the very next day when 11-time NBA Champion coach Phil Jackson responded to Kendrick Lamar mentioning him on the verse. Jackson addresses his response to Kendrick for the first time on The Seth Davis Show.

 

 

Reports All Hip Hop:

 

Jackson responded to Kendrick Lamar’s lyric “Even if Phil Jackson come back, still no coaching me” on his personal Twitter account the following day (August 13th):
 

 “@kendricklamar it’s okay to be cocky and sure, but we all need somebody to lean on. Let’s just call it mentoring.,”

 

According to the legendary coach it was a mixture of being lonely and the instigation of people on Twitter to not let Kendrick say that without being responded to that prompted the tweet:

[Twitter's] where you can communicate with people that are completely out of your, you know, your range of influence and your social grouping. But the connection between basketball and rap is so deep that many of the people that tweet back and forth to me were saying, ‘You gotta come back at Lamar after he gives you this [line.]‘ I read the mentions on that, I was in a down phase in Montana, obviously, and I was looking for some social communication and so I threw that out there and of course, that was a hot line to get a buzz.
