Chris Brown Rejects Plea Deal In Washington, D.C. Assault Case

Chris Brown’s legal team rejected a plea deal on the assault case the singer is facing stemming from an October assault outside of a Washington, D.C. hotel.

 

The prosecution offered to reduce the charge to simple assault from misdemeanor assault. Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, wants to see a surveillance video that may have captured the incident before agreeing to a plea bargain, TMZ.com says.

The singer is facing a misdemeanor assault charge from an incident which began when Brown was reportedly approached at approximately 4:30 am by two women who wanted to take a picture with him in front of the W Hotel in Washington, D.C., according to law enforcement, as per TMZ. When two men attempted to get into the photo, Brown allegedly used a gay slur before allegedly throwing a punch at the alleged victim.

Brown was initially facing a felony assault charge, but it was reduced to a misdemeanor from a felony, according to TMZ.com.

The singer pled not guilty to the charge and is required to stay 100 yards away from the alleged victim in the case.

Chris Brown Gang Ties Explored By LAPD

LAPD focusing on Chris Brown and Suge Knight gang ties for the investigation of Sunday’s shooting incident.

 

The man who shot Suge Knight and 2 others at a pre-VMA party early Sunday is on tape clear as Knight — problem is … so far the eyewitnesses are clamming up.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … 1Oak has a sophisticated surveillance system that covers almost the entire club, and at least one of the cameras clearly shows the gunman firing the shots. We’re told the shooter’s facial features are clear enough to make out.
As TMZ first reported … cops are zeroing in on gang rivalry as a motive. Suge and Chris Brown — who were inside the club — make no secret of their Bloods affiliation. The Game — who was denied entry — also wears his Bloods affiliation on his sleeve.

Update: Suge Knight Shot 6 Times, Was Chris Brown Intended Target?

Suge Knight was shot six times at Chris Brown’s pre-VMA party at 10AK in West Hollywood Saturday night but eye-witnesses claim the intended target was Chris Brown.

 

Cops are focusing on beef between gang members that triggered the nightclub shooting that landed Suge Knight in an ICU with multiple bullet wounds … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We’re told cops are interested in a common denominator with Chris Brown, Suge and Game — Bloods affiliation.

Eyewitnesses tell us Brown was throwing up gang signs before the shooting inside 1OAK early Sunday and he was performing with a red bandana — the Bloods’ moniker.
Game — who got in a fight outside 1OAK before the shooting because they wouldn’t let him in — is a known and proud member of the Bloods. His album is called Blood Money.

As for Suge … one of the most notorious things about him is his Bloods affiliation.
And we know … cops are interested in this — there were several known gang bangers surrounding Chris at the time of the shooting.

This could all be problematic for Brown …. He’s still on probation in the Rihanna beating case, and hanging with gang members and throwing gang signs is not going to impress the judge. Suge is out of surgery … according to family sources. We’re told Suge was shot 6 times. He’s currently in ICU, but is expected to recover.

Chris Brown Admits To Violating Probation, Sentenced To 131 MORE Days In Jail!

Chris Brown has just been sentenced to spend another 4-plus months in jail … for violating his probation in the Rihanna case … but the reality is, he could be released by week’s end. Brown was in court Friday afternoon … where he admitted he violated his probation by getting into a fight with a dude in Washington D.C.

That’s all the judge needed to hear. He sentenced Chris to 1 year in jail. HOWEVER, Chris got credit for 116 days he spent in rehab, and another 59 days behind bars. That leaves 131 days in the pokey.

But we’re told the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept has been releasing inmates sentenced to 1 year after 240 days. And here’s the thing. Chris gets credit for 2 days for every 1 he served behind bars, so when you add it up, he has credit for 234 days — 6 days shy. So he could be released in days.

The judge could have gone a lot harder — 4 years in prison. But Chris got a break because the judge took into account he was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which could account for some of the violence.

The judge also ordered Chris to attend therapy sessions with a shrink 2 times a week. And he must submit to random drug testing 3 times a week.

Chris is not out of the legal woods … his D.C. assault trial is set to start in the following months.

Evidence photos from Chris Brown’s battery case surface online. Yesterday, while Chris Brown celebrated his 25th birthday behind bars, evidence photos from his upcoming assault trial were released by the D.C. prosecutors office.

Chris Brown and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy are accused of attacking Parker Adams who tried to photo bomb his two female friends who were taking fan pics with Chris.

The rumor mill is swirling heavily with talk that Chris Brown is planning to pull out all the stops and officially wife up his ride-or-die lady love Karrueche once he’s released from jail.

Karrueche Tran’s efforts to stay by her boyfriend, Chris Brown are paying off. Chris Brown [allegedly] thinks she’s the perfect wife material and might propose to her after he comes out of jail.

Moreover, “He basically told her that when he gets out things are going to be way different between them and that he’s going to return all the favors she’s given him with a surprise of a lifetime,” Hollywood Life reports.

Update: Chris Brown Will Spend 25th Birthday In Jail (Pics)

While court officials plan a date for Chris Brown’s probation violation hearing, the singer will spend his 25th birthday in jail.

According to Rap-Up, the singer appeared in court Thursday afternoon with his attorney Mark Geragos looking exhausted in his bright orange prison uniform.

The judge ruled that Chris will remain in jail until May 9 while Geragos and Assistant District Attorney Mary Murray work on getting the singer to admit that he violated his probation.

Brown turns 25 on May 5.

If both parties don’t settle a deal soon, the singer will spend up to four years in prison.

Transcripts From Chris Brown Assault Trial Released

On Thursday, we got our first glimpse of Parker Adams – the 20-year-old Beltsville man who prosecutors say was punched by singer Chris Brown and Brown’s security guard, 35-year-old Chris Hollosy, outside the W Hotel last year in D.C.

Hollosy’s simple assault trial began today, and with it came new detail about that October night during Howard University’s homecoming.

Adams said he was outside the hotel with his girlfriend, a Howard student who also took the stand today, and one of her friends. When the two women saw Chris Brown walking towards his parked tour bus, they asked if he would take a picture with them.
Parker said that Brown replied, “One picture, make it quick,” Parker also added in court: “I thought I might as well hop into the picture.”

Then, Brown allegedly said, “I am not into that gay —-.”

“I was surprised by what he said,” said Parker.

It was after that comment the situation allegedly turned violent. Prosecutors argued that Parker then replied to the pop star; “Why are you ho-ing with me?” Parker explained that this was a term he and his friends used to describe someone that’s acting like a “ho,” insisting that it was not a threat or an invitation to fight.

Parker said that was when Brown clocked him, and other witnesses said Parker never hit back. Parker testified, “I squared up in a defensive stance, and that was when Brown reportedly started hopping around like he was Floyd Mayweather. As I put my dukes up, that is when the bodyguard stood in between us and slugged me.”

Holloys’ defense team argued the case boiled down to money, repeatedly pointing out the fact that Parker Adams has a pending $3 million civil suit against Brown and Hollosy. Defense lawyers said Adams provoked the incident, and now wants to get paid.

Chris Brown Chained At Ankles, Thrown Behind Bars In DC

R&B singer Chris Brown is going to have plenty of time to think about his music career and personal life as reports claim he will now stay behind bars in a Washington, DC jail until later this month.

 

According to reports, Breezy was moved from Los Angeles to Washington in light of a criminal case. 

The singer’s “Con Air” flight landed in the D.C. area, and he was escorted by U.S. marshals to a local jail where he will be locked up until his assault trial later this month, according to a Marshals Service spokesman. He had been chained at his ankles, waist and arms much of the time since marshals took him into custody from the Los Angeles County sheriff last Wednesday. (CNN) 

Despite some pleas, Chris’ legal team could not help him avoid swallowing more jail time. 

Brown’s lawyer failed to convince a judge at a hearing Monday that his assault charge in Washington should be dropped because of prosecutors’ misconduct. Judge Patricia Wynn rejected the argument by Mark Geragos that the U.S. attorneys abused the grand jury process in preparation for Brown’s trial. The singer and his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, are charged with hitting a man on a sidewalk just blocks from the White House in October. (CNN)

Chris Brown — I May Miss My D.C. Hearing Because Con Air Sucks!

Chris Brown learned a lesson this week … what it must have been like traveling across the country by stagecoach … because four days into his journey he is still not in Washington D.C.

TMZ broke the story … Brown was taken from his L.A. County jail cell Thursday by U.S. Marshals for the cross country trip. 

We’re told he made several stops along the way and typically when a prisoner lands he is taken to a nearby jail to wait for the next available flight. 

Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos will be in a D.C. courtroom Monday trying to get his client’s case dismissed on grounds of grand jury misconduct. It’s unclear if Chris will make it to the hearing. 

Brown will stand trial April 17th for allegedly assaulting a man outside a D.C. hotel.
A typical commercial flight from L.A. to D.C. takes 4 hours and 40 minutes.
