Music moguls Damon “Dame” Dash and 50 Cent have come forward to share their thoughts on new footage of rap star Jay Z and sister-in-law Solange Knowles recently getting into an altercation. #EveryoneWatching.

Fif posted up a portion of the fight footage to his Instagram account and also narrated it.

Although not as direct as Fif, Dame Dash posted up a photo of Solange and noted her fighter-like image.

The hotel where the fight went down issued a statement Monday (May 12).

A publicist for the Standard Hotel has provided the following statement exclusively to theGrio: “We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests. Former Roc-A-Fella Records owner Damon “Dame” Dash may raise some eyebrows after making dicey comments surrounding rap mogul Jay Z in an upcoming issue of DETAILS Magazine.

 

Based on an excerpt from his feature, Dash notes the company his ex-business partner currently keeps around him.

“Dash says he was never cut out for that world–he wants to be a Richard Branson-type entrepreneur-cum-magnate, creating companies and then getting other people to run them. He also heaps scorn on the Def Jam team that would later become Jay Z’s inner circle. ‘Those people are corny. You think I’m rolling to a club with Lyor Cohen or John Meneilly?’ he says, referring to the former head of Island Def Jam and Jay’s manager. ‘No disrespect to Jay–but every single person I see hanging around him is making money off him. Kanye West Explains Siding With Jay Z Over Dame Dash

When the split between former Roc-A-Fella Records business associates Dame Dash and Jay Z took place in the early 2000s, rapper Kanye West was one of a handful of artists who sided with Jay following the split. This week the Chicago wordsmith revealed the reason why he took the Brooklyn emcee’s side during the ordeal.

According to Kanye, despite relating to Dame more, he felt he had more to learn from Jay Z, specifically his ability to be personable. 

“The problem was with Dame his truth was more accurate and more closer to what mine was, but his technique was harsh for me as a young kid and stuff,” he said. “I felt like a little bit more pressure. And Jay Z was a nice guy. And also I felt like I had that truth that Dame has in him. We the same. Me and Cam, me and Dame, we the same. But I wanted to learn this technique that Jay got of actually being likable…So, Jay Z know how to move in a room full of vultures. You know what I’m saying? As his little brother, I needed to learn that technique because I got something that God want me to give the world.”

Roc-a-fella Records co-founder Damon Dash trashed and abandoned his upstate mansion, leaving behind bongs and dirty laundry — but also jewelry and artwork, new court documents claim.

The hip-hop mogul — who once said he was worth $50 million — owes $162,000 in back rent on the upstate Carmel pad, which boasts a music studio and pool.
The landlord’s lawyer, Thomas Mullaney, told The Post that Dash “held the house hostage” for a year in a half while he dodged rental payments of $15,000 a month before he left it all behind.

The carpets were ruined, and his “clothing strewn on the floor as if it were trash,” according to the landlord’s Putnam County lawsuit.
“Mr. Dash simply abandoned the property,” owner Elad Yoran huffs in his lawsuit filed in Putnam County.

Dash claims that he’s fallen on hard times, but Yoran’s lawyer said, “When I look online, he’s rolling around in a chauffeured Roll Royce, and he’s riding in a private plane.

“He’s not living the life of someone who is trying to keep their expenses down so they can pay their obligations,” Mullaney said.

Yoran was forced to pack and store Dash’s jewelry, drug paraphernalia, clothing and art work that he left strewn around the house as if “frozen in time,” the papers state.
Dash raked in a fortune when he collaborated with Jay-Z on the record label and clothing company Rocawear. As part of his lavish lifestyle, he reportedly owned 1,300 different pairs of shoes, a $400,000 Maybach and items of clothing that were worn once and then donated.

He said in court papers that he was no longer interested in the country house because it was too cold up north.

But Dash insisted that he doesn’t even have enough money now to pick up his items in storage, court papers.

He owed $2 million in unpaid taxes to New York state in 2009 and is fighting against a garnishment of his wages after he defaulted on a $238,078 loan to a garment-industry lender.

The garnishments “have caused severe financial hardship that has not only made it nearly impossible for me to maintain my businesses, they have caused me to fall behind on my personal expenses including my rent payments for my only residence,” Dash testified in May.

He also blamed his financial woes on child-support payments of $24,000 every three months to his ex-wife, fashion designer Rachel Roy, with whom he has two children.
In addition to the rent, he owes payments to the maid and Yoran for packing and storing the items.

Dash’s lawyer, Gregg Pinto, responded to the accusations in an e-mail, saying, “Elad Yoran reneged on a deal that he made and now wants to use bad press to gain leverage. Mr. Dash is not scared and wants to let a judge decide.”

Damon Dash’s son Boogie was arrested for assault after attacking his girlfriend in an argument over sex. The son of former Roc-A-Fella records music mogul, Damon “Dame” Dash, was arrested Tuesday for strangling his girlfriend in Chelsea, authorities said.

Damon Dash II, 22, was charged with misdemeanor assault and strangulation for allegedly squeezing his girlfriend’s neck as they argued on Sept. 22 in his West 16th Street apartment. “They had an apparent dispute over sex,” a law enforcement source told The Post of Dash-the-younger and his girlfriend.

“She was visiting him at his apartment, he got violent with her, starts to punch her, slap her and shove her onto the bed, got on top of her, he grabs her by the throat and chokes her,” the source said. They briefly reconciled but then had another fight, at which point the victim called the cops, the source said.

Dash climbed on top of her and “placed both of [his] hands around [her] neck and squeezed tightly,” to the point where she had trouble breathing, according to the misdemeanor complaint against him. At his arraignment on Wednesday, Dash signed an order of protection barring him from any contact with his alleged victim. He was released without bail. “He did get physically violent with her,” the source added. “She suffered bruises, a black eye and a cut lip.” Her neck was left with red marks, the complaint alleges. Dash Jr. has had one previous arrest but details of that case have been sealed.
