EA Sports Releases NBA Live 14 Sneak Peek [Video]

As 2K Sports' latest NBA title continues to do what it normally does this time of year, EA Sports has given diehard video game heads something to get excited about with the release of an NBA Live 14 sneak peek.

Reports SOHH:

Although the full-length version is expected to drop tomorrow (October 18), the 15-second clip gives viewers an idea of the franchise's emphasis on realistic graphics.
While NBA 2K14 has been the highest selling and rated basketball simulation video game for the past 4 seasons, Electronic Arts is looking to regain their throne. NBA 2K14 has seen little to no improvement over the past few seasons (f*ck out of here with that sh*tty new control layout) due to the lack of competition on the virtual hardwood, but NBA LIVE 14 will be hitting next-generation Sony And Microsoft consoles in a few weeks. Today, we have a new sneak peak at the upcoming gameplay reveal, featuring the Los Angeles Lakers at the Portland Trailblazers. Steve Nash is shown doing his signature pick-n-roll plays (now with Pau Gasol since D'Antoni actually has to play him) leading to a floating tear drop score. This Friday will be the full 5v5 gameplay reveal for Xbox One and PlayStation; but for now, check after the jump for a taste of what to expect. (Free OnSmash)
Barring any unforeseen setbacks, EA Sports' revamped series tips off November 19.
NBA Live 14 will be released Nov. 19 on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, publisher Electronic Arts said on the game's Twitter account today. That means the basketball game won't quite make the PS4's North American launch, which will take place the previous Friday, Nov. 15. However, NBA Live 14 will be available in time for the Xbox One's North American release on Nov. 22, three days after the game comes out. (Polygon)
The iconic video game company released NBA Live 14's first gameplay screenshot last month.
Prior to this point, Electronic Arts had only confirmed that NBA Live 14 would be released in the "launch window," by the end of 2013. The game's competition, NBA 2K14 from 2K Sports, will be available on PS4 and Xbox One at their respective release dates. Meanwhile, EA's other next-generation sports titles -- Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14 -- will be released Nov. 12 on PS4 and Nov. 19 on Xbox One. EA Sports also released the first NBA Live 14 gameplay screenshot today; it features the game's cover athlete, Kyrie Irving. (Polygon)
EA Sports added some heat to NBA 2K14's cover star LeBron James by unveiling its mystery NBA Live 14 cover art back in July.
In a year where EA Sports will be introducing games for next generation XBox, the video game maker has selected one of the NBA's brightest young stars as the cover athlete of its upcoming NBA Live 14 game. Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will grace the cover of the series, which hasn't been published in four years. EA Sports touts a new in-game physics engine that apparently will allow gamers more precision-dribble control than in previous editions. It'll be interesting to see how the game competes against NBA2K14, the latest installment of the segment-leading NBA2K series, which will feature LeBron James on the cover. (USA Today)
