Floyd Mayweather Apologizes to De La Hoya Over Instagram Diss

Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather sent out an apology to Oscar De La Hoya after posting a meme on his Instagram account, mocking his substance abuse. Floyd insists that he never approved the photo to go up on his page, and says he would never make fun of anyone with a substance abuse problem.

Reports Vlad:

The meme said "Meanwhile Back In Rehab, and featured another caption at the bottom, reading, "Oscar: I gave Canelo the wrong blueprint I was high." It was posted right after Mayweather won his fight against Canelo Alvarez, who is signed to Oscar's boxing promotion company.

"It's unfortunate that a stupid picture was posted to my Instagram account earlier today that was not posted by me or authorized by me to post. I completely support Oscar De La Hoya and his family during this difficult time in his life. I stand by him unconditionally and would never personally disrespect him or anyone else who struggles with addiction."

He added, "I apologize to Oscar and his family for this posting. I wish him well and am rooting for him to win his fight too. I also apologize to all of my followers for this ridiculous post. I have no ill-will towards anyone."

Man whaaaaatever Floyd...the damage has already been done.  PR move...
